JOB POSITION: Legal Assistant /Administrative Assistant

EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Full Time

SALARY RANGE: $10.00 – $16.00 per hour depending on qualifications and experience

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Hancock Law Firm seeks a positive and professional candidate to assist the firm. The firm is seeking someone who is prepared to work independently with direction and guidance. Administrative or Office experience required. Legal experience a plus.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: The ideal candidate will have a confident and positive disposition on the phone and with clients. The ideal candidate will be able to speak to a variety of individuals – clients, other attorneys, judges, etc. This position requires constant interaction with people, so applicants must be personable, empathetic, and enjoy working with a team.

The ideal candidate must have a good understanding of Microsoft and should be able to organize voluminous documents. Applicants must understand how to effectively prioritize work projects and meet deadlines.

The person who fills this position should be capable of thriving in an environment of ever-changing tasks and priorities and should be capable of making positive independent decisions in line with this firm’s practices and core values.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Client contact, including greeting visitors, email correspondence, and answering phones.
  • Create, organize, and file documents electronically and in paper files
  • Draft formal correspondence and legal documents
  • File legal documents with court
  • Open, review, and process incoming mail and e-mail
  • Manage firm calendar and schedule all firm appointments
